Rethinking the entire chain
At every stage, Maje strives to reduce its environmental footprint: certified and recycled materials, a carbon trajectory validated by international standards, enhanced traceability and preservation of resources. A continuous improvement approach, guided by measurable objectives and concrete actions throughout the creative chain.

Choosing lower-impact materials

At Maje, it all starts with the choice of material.
Every sketch and every fabric is now assessed through a simple question: how can we create something just as beautiful while using fewer resources and generating fewer emissions?
To achieve this, Maje has identified a range of materials with a lower environmental impact, based on independent and recognised labels.
Their characteristics are incorporated right from the design phase, while strictly following Maje's exacting standards in terms of feel, drape and durability.
Since 2023, Maje no longer uses fur, exotic leather, materials from endangered species and feathers or down.
What do these certifications guarantee? GOTS: GOTS certification guarantees that products contain certified organic fibers and meet stringent environmental and social criteria throughout the entire production chain. OCS: Products certified according to the Organic Content Standard contain organically grown material whose traceability has been verified at every stage of the supply chain. GRS: Products certified according to the Global Recycled Standard contain recycled material whose traceability has been verified at every stage of the supply chain, from the recycler to the final product. RWS: The Responsible Wool Standard defines and certifies animal welfare and land management practices in wool production, while ensuring the traceability of certified wool from farm to final product. Certifications issued by Ecocert Greenlife to Maje, license # 314584.

Why this approach?

Certification is an essential lever for increasing transparency regarding the origin of our materials and the reliability of the information communicated to our customers. It also helps us structure our supply chains and implement independent control mechanisms throughout the entire process.

A first step

Products displaying these certification logos on our e-commerce website come from a supply chain fully covered by certified suppliers (e.g. spinning, weaving, dyeing, manufacturing). This milestone reflects the work carried out with our teams and partners to establish the processes required for the certification of the relevant materials and products.
